Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to the numerical and experimental investigation of residual stress and deformation in polycrystalline metallic alloys at different scales. The emphasis in the current study is placed on establishing the connection between the simulation of deformation by the Finite Element (FE) method and experimental characterisation by synchrotron X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).
