Endoglycosidase (Endo) S, secreted by bacterial pathogen Streptococcus pyogenes, is an important immunomodulatory enzyme which specifically hydrolyses the functionally important N-linked complex biantennary glycan found at Asn297 on the CH2 domain of fragment crystallisable (Fc) on human immunoglobulin G (IgG). Deglycosylation of IgG Fc leads to complete loss of binding to cellular Fcγ receptors (FcγRs) thus abolishing antibody dependent cellular cytoxicity (ADCC)...
