Island Biogeography: taking the long view of nature’s laboratories

Abstract:

Islands provide classic model biological systems. We review how growing appreciation of geo-environmental dynamics of marine islands has led to advances in island biogeographic theory accommodating both evolutionary and ecological phenomena.
